Penny Club members and guests gathered at Mark Zehring’s country home for a Valentine afternoon of singing games and refreshments with twenty four members and four visitors present. The Happy Hour Club followed with sewing, music, and raffles, and visitors included Mrs. Eva Davis of Kokomo. Weights and measures sealer Harness to oversee scale accuracy in Cass County starting March 1 with office in the courthouse basement.
Pay your subscription Mrs. Clara Graft and children at tended the show Little Lost Sister at Kokomo Monday. Miss Marie Johnson, Sam Sprinkle, Chas Henderson and wife drove to Indianapolis Friday night to hear Harry Lowden sing. Joe Barnhart of Michigan and W. Jay of Chicago were Thursday guests of Chas Barnhart and wife. Fred Swafford will hold a closingout sale at the Emmett Swafford farm near Galveston February 19. Mr. and Mrs. Mort Whitman and daughter and several Kokomo residents visited. Misses Margaret Haynes Vera Fickle were guests of Frank Graff and family Sunday. The Birthday Club met at the Spaulding home Tuesday with Ida McKinney and others present.
Will Jay and family of Chicago were Friday guests of Chas Barnhart and family. Mr and Mrs Yerkes of Walton Mrs Mildred Davis and daughter of Deacon spent Sunday with Matt Cree and family. Mrs Maggie Crowder of Macy Mrs Cora Liston and Mrs Cornelia Smith spent Wednesday with Rev E Garrison and family. There will be a call meeting of the F A M s Thursday evening February 20 for degree work I Chitford Cree W M J P Harris. The two weeks old baby of Mr and Mrs Alvin Logan was operated on Sunday and doing nicely. Mrs Bessie Cripe was brought home from Kokomo hospital Monday. Mrs Eva Emerick entertained at Sunday dinner Mrs John Sharp of Indianapolis Mrs Emma Haworth Aaron Robertson and wife Wilson Fickle and son Omer and wife J A Emerick and wife and Lizzie Martin.
Mrs Crawford Fawcett aged 79 died at her son Wm Fawcett’s home on the county line southeast of Galveston Friday. Funeral services were held southwest of Kokomo on Monday with burial in Spice Run Cemetery. Mr Murphey Cass County Red Cross Chair thanks helpers for a successful campaign totaling 7500 members.
