CAPTAIN TIBBALL DIES AFTER ILLNESS IN DUBUQUE
Captain Norman H. Tibballs dies at Mercy hospital in Dubuque after a period of illness. Born in 1884 in Bennington Vermont he moved west as a youth and began river work in Galena. He married Rose Connolly in 1864 at Galena. she died three years ago. Survived by son Charles of Dubuque, Tibballs piloted on the Mississippi for about forty years and was highly regarded among rivermen.
