Modern Woodmen Meeting at New Woodmen Hall

An open meeting of the Modern Woodmen will be held at New Woodmen Hall on Beach Street on March 29. George W. Riley of Rock Island, Chairman of the Board, and D. A. Naugle of Princeton, Ill., District Deputy, will speak on Fraternal Insurance. All are invited. Old furniture repolished to look like new and special pieces made to order at reasonable prices.

Resolutions of Respect for Thomas Foster at Merchants National Bank

The Merchants National Bank of Galena held a special meeting March 17 1905 to adopt resolutions honoring director and former president Thomas Foster. The bank closed at 1 PM for his funeral and copies were published. heartfelt sympathy was extended to his family. Voters in West Galena township nominated candidates for town offices at a voluntary primary with contests for collector. Republicans discussed fielding a ticket but deemed it unwise.
