Federal Court to Be Held in Freeport Under New Illinois District

Washington February 28 the house passed Senate bill 7049 creating a new federal judicial district in Illinois and adding a circuit and district judge. The bill provides that Freeport will host court on the third Mondays of April and October, with a resident marshal and deputy clerk to be appointed, enhancing Freeport as an legal and commercial center. The measure divides the northern district into eastern and western divisions with Freeport as the western division seat, while Chicago remains the other venue.

Young Life Rested in Frankslin Street Tragedy

Mary Engels mourns as her youngest daughter Addie Engels dies after five years of illness in their Franklin Street home. Born August 17 1880 in the city, she died in her 25th year with many friends left behind. Funeral from St Marys Church at 9 am Wednesday a high mass of Maguiena and burial in the German Catholic cemetery.

Death of Mrs Louis Neubert in local city

Emma Habich Neubert born May 10 1878 died at her hill home this morning. She wed Louis Neubert in June 1902 and they had one child. Survived by husband her mother Mrs Henrietta Habich and four sisters Mrs Will Lobeck Esther Sarah and Mrs J G Kneald Pueblo Colo. Funeral at 2 o'clock Thursday from the deceaseds home to St Mathews Lutheran Church conducted by Rev John Klindworth.

Death of George Wynne Wilson in Freeport Illinois

George Wynne Wilson son of Mr and Mrs W H Wilson of Galena died this morning at Globe Hospital Freeport after six weeks with typhoid fever He was born April 4 1878 and married Nett Showers in November 1904 He survived by his wife and his parents and four brothers Earl Walter Leslie and Russell The body will be brought to Galena this evening funeral arrangements not yet definite

Man Dies After Saw Mill Accident Near Menominee

John Kelly, 32, unmarried, died from injuries after his arm was caught in belt and his body pulled into cogwheels at a saw mill near Menominee yesterday morning. He suffered severe head injuries and a large wound to the side. Dr. Lewis assisted. Kelly was transported to St Mary’s Hospital in Galena where he died at 8:20 p.m. Funeral set for tomorrow at 2 p.m. at St Michael’s Church with burial in East Side Cemetery.

Joseph Carey aged 35 died at 11 o clock at his Hickory Street home Bridgeport He worked as a miner for William Waters and was described as industrious He leaves a wife and two children The funeral is set for Highory Street residence at two o clock tomorrow afternoon Interment will be in East Side Cemetery
