Died at Poor Farm After Illness of Rheumatism

Henry Apps aged 79 died yesterday at the county farm where he and his wife resided for six years. A former farmer near Seales Mound, Apps faced hardship in later life and died alone with his wife as the sole surviving relative. Substantial accident injures night engineer at Burlington stub

William F. Biesmann receives a torpedo shaped minnow bucket with airtight buoyant chambers. The floating bucket is designed to be fed to a boat and remains afloat. Floral parade opens Eagles Carnival amid limited floats

The first floral parade featured original floats headed by the Galena band and the Eagles team. Prizes of 10 dollars went to Thode and Blum’s factory. An acrobat, Charles Van Norman, was injured in a leap from a bicycle into a water tank but expected to recover for tomorrow. Rain ended the carnival’s first night abruptly.
