Joplin Missouri July 4 zinc ore prices rose with the week highest paid at 46 a ton up 50 cents though only one bin sold at that rate. High and choice grades moved to 45 per ton while lower grades also gained as buyers sought ore before mine closures for the Fourth. Assay prices ranged 1 to 4 1 per ton for 60 percent zinc as market activity remained light. A year ago top ore fetched 36 per ton with 33 per ton assay.
