Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson Armour aged 87 a lifelong Galena resident died at 5 15 pm Saturday at her son Judge William Rippin’s home after a brief illness. Born in August 1818 in Wirherhead England she and her first husband Joseph Rippin endured cholera losses en route to America. She later married Henry Armour in 1850 and resided with son William since 1877. Funeral at her home conducted by Rev Matlack and burial in Greenwood cemetery with pallbearers Jannie Bannie Avery Stephenson Ginn Howard Sr. and Spensley.
