Big strike reported by Chatt Bros at Fecht farm one mile east of Highland Wisconsin near Mineral Point and Northern railway. Miner suffers broken leg in Wisconsin mine accident

Platteville Wisconsin July 26 Bert Wison of Boscobel suffered a bad accident Tuesday morning while wheeling a 500 pound tub of rock in the Gritty Six mine. The tub fell on his right leg breaking it below the knee. He was taken to the hospital and will be out of action for some time.

Geological surveyors who arrived Friday and left Saturday for Carbondale Illinois have nearly completed their survey of the mines here. It will be weeks or months before charts and maps are published for distribution.

Finger Severed in Drill Accident at Cuba City

Geo. Dent lost the middle joint of his left hand when a drilling machine severed his finger while freeing a stuck drill. The incident occurred Wednesday. Dent had ribs broken five weeks earlier by the same outfit.

Concentrator Planned for Clark Mine by Galena Iron Works

Chas. C Mathey, head of the Galena Iron Works Co., visited Highland to draw up plans and specifications for a 50 ton concentrator to be built at the Clark mine at once. The Highland report says Mineral Point mining men have purchased the mine at a fair price.
