Death of E N Dangerfield First U S Gauger Here
Edward N Dangerfield of Elgin died at 2 45 PM at his home 108 North Liberty street after a few hours illness from lung and heart trouble. Born in Edinburgh he worked as machinist for the Illinois Watch Co and later founded an insurance business. He was the first U S gauger stationed in Elgin from Oct 1900 to 1902 and served as district deputy for Mayor Sheerer when he was grand chancellor of the K P lodge. He was a member of Knights of Pythias Modern Woodmen Archaean Union Elks and Royal Arcanum and left many friends.

Driver Hurled to the Ground in Runaway Incident
