The Pittsburgh Gazette Times analyzes Woodrow Wilson's New York Press Club address as a political bid for votes rather than a frank message. It argues he aims to influence the November election with war threats against Mexico, while claiming to act for national defense and honor. The piece contends Wilson’s remarks manipulate public opinion and fail to show decisive leadership.

Good For Penn a Why Not Maryland Eastern Wool Growing Plan

The Washington Post outlines Pennsylvania s wool growing experiment financed by prominent bankers. It would place 5 000 sheep with farmers under profit sharing, giving each farmer 10 sheep and half the lambs while the wool remains theirs. Counties insure losses from dogs and disease borne by bankers, with farmers able to buy back at year end. 12 counties have requested sheep and 200 requests filed, aiming to parcel 5 000 sheep among about 500 farmers for a potential market in Philadelphia and a drop in living costs.
