The city faces near wholesale district inundation with many families evacuated and rail service disrupted as front street and Vancouver lower areas flood. June 5 McKirsiver Pa a mob of strikers attacked National Lube workers who had left the pris of strikers. Fourteen to twenty deputies were being sent, police powerless, several workers badly injured, one seriously. Mass meeting urged residents to resist, with fears of further violence. Charles Mayer was arrested on a perjury charge in Justice Crichton s court after a complaint by Hermann Weimann. Mayer pleaded not guilty and posted 1000 bond with sureties Waimann and Bloormmedale. Weimann accuses Mayer of lying about goods sold on sixty days terms in a Dieteren v Mayer case, part of ongoing disputes over a commercial venture.
