J C Bayne editor of the Herald Addington Indian Territory reports continued rheumatism but credits Chamberlain's Pain Balm with enabling him to resume business. The ad claims one application relieves pain and urges readers to try the liniment. It also offers a heartburn remedy using lemon juice and carbonate of soda mixed in cold water.
A collage of 19th century remedies touts Orino Laxative Fruit Syrup as a mild, superior laxative for women and children, with claims of clearing complexions and cleansing the system. The notice advertises Chian berliin’s Salve claiming relief for eczema jetter salt rheum itch ring worm herpes and barber’s eczema with a permanent cure possible after continued use. It states many cases cured where other treatments failed and lists price 25e per box. Sold by W N Mc Keehen.
W W Kearney editor of the Independent Lowry City Missouri praises Cham berlain’s Cough Remedy as essential for homes. He says keeping it on hand helps stop colds early and eases croup in children, with immediate use preventing worse symptoms. The ad notes milk as a flesh gainer and advises sipping rather than gulping.
Kenneth Melver of Vanceboro Maine attributes a near fatal throat and lung illness to King’s New Discovery which he credits with saving his life after three doctors gave up hope. The ad also promotes Kennedy’s Laxative Honey and Tar for coughs and colds with a note on alternating two pairs of shoes for foot health.
W M Sherman of Cushing Maine recalls three months of kidney inflammation eased by Electric Bitters which he credits with his recovery. The ad claims benefits for liver faults dyspepsia blood disorders and malaria. Also promotes DeWitt Co Witch Hazel Salve and a cold water head relief method with warnings about counterfeits.
An advert praises Dr King’s New Life Pills as a remedy against constipation and related stomach and liver issues. It claims the pills regulate these organs without pain and lists a 25 cent price at I De Caswell’s drugstore.
A letter argues the total cost of painting includes paint and labor. It cites a Delhi New York comparison with Devoe versus adulterated paint, using two houses painted by Geo Gilbert to claim a big price difference. The missive ends with signatures and a lodge resolution note.
