Jeremiah Harvey a noted printer and one of the coldest in the United States died at Marion Indiana last week at age ninety three. His son aged sixty works on the Indianapolis News. The region faces coal and natural gas fuel shortages while Fremont reports some warmth.
A quiet Wednesday gathering at Mr. Benj Holcomb’s residence celebrated the mother’s birthday with about thirty relatives. Attendees included Harriet Purdy of Kinderhook Michigan and the Worden, Holcomb, Purdy, and Travis families from Reading Matti gam and Elkhart. A bountiful repast followed, with readings, a napkin ring and slippers given to the mother, and a devotional close with songs and prayers.
Chion Evangelistic meetings at the Congregational Church begin this week. Meetings also at the M E Church for the week of January 24. East Fremont Evangelical reports twelve altar calls. German Methodist services Sunday at 4 PM led by Rev. E Werner of Eden Ohio. Sermon titled Blessedness of enduring in temptation. All welcome.
