Valley Line wreck claims mother and infant in Inverness crash
Mrs Waldo Miller and her infant daughter of Mongo were killed instantly when a westbound Valley Line motor car was struck by a following steam train at Inverness. A second daughter suffered a fractured skull and 18 to 20 passengers were injured including W H Asherman Emory Rowe and Al Brown.

Death of Mrs Henry McElhenie Sudden Illness After Supper
The community mourns the death of Mrs Henry McElhenie who died Monday night after a brief illness of about four hours. She fell ill as her family sat down to supper and despite immediate medical help, Dr Wade could not save her. The funeral will be held this afternoon at the Evangelical church.

Purdue Farmers Short Course Opens January 8 138
The Purdue Farmers Short Course runs January 8 to 13 for men women boys and girls in agriculture and rural life. It offers practical instruction for Indiana residents unable to enroll in regular programs with lectures demonstrations and lab work by staff from the School of Agriculture Agricultural Experiment Station Extension and Home Economics. State agricultural associations meet during the week and boys and girls have a prominent program with county participation and tours of the University Crouch’s livestock farm and other sites.

Duguid Straw Wedding Sealed in Ray Presbyterian Church
Miss Martha Beulah Duguid and Mr Clayton C Straw wed in Ray at the Reformed Presbyterian church in a large ceremony. About 100 relatives and friends attended as 42 led the bridal party to the altar while a 28-voice chorus sang the Bridal Chorus. Ruth McNaughton played piano, Hearts and Flowers then Mendelssohn Wedding March. Leona McNitt, the flower girl, scattered rose petals as the procession moved to the altar.
