Solomon Maloof who opened the Fremont Garage on West Toledo Street last summer sells to Roy Isenhower who takes possession immediately. Maloof, from Georgia, ran a good season but plans to return home after Christmas. The town wishes the new owner success.
Alvin Goodwin of Pleasant Lake purchased a sizeable 80 to 90 acre virgin forest tract known as Holmes place two miles west of Bronson near the Lake Shore railway with a siding nearby. The seller is said to have received about $8,500. The woods drew buyers from across the country due to timber scarcity.
The Auburn Weekly Bee will suspend with last week's issue and refund subscriptions unless resumed by others. The La Grange County Republican also suspended last week. Both papers were well edited and printed but sold for one dollar a year and many dollar-a-year papers have folded in recent months.
