Monkey Witness Sways Mississippi River Fraud Case
A Louisiana murder trial hinged on Jocko the monkey as key witness against Starr and his wife for killing Ackerman’s master aboard a river show. The monkey’s clear aversion to the couple and dramatic courtroom entrance led to a guilty verdict for the man and a life term for the woman, with the animal kept in custody then sold at auction.
