Edward Cudahy Jr was kidnapped by a six man gang in Omaha. He was returned unharmed after his father paid 25000 in gold as ransom following a detailed demand letter. The boy described being blindfolded and held at a South Omaha location before a late night return home.
Night Watchman I M Good reports three men in the state capitol treasurer’s office at 3 a m. Two shots were fired at Good, he fired back. robbers fled without opening the vault or taking valuables. Detectives chased leads but no arrests. Evidence found includes a cold chisel a wax candle and a cement sack. Captain Horn a veteran Missouri River steamboat pilot died at Pierre aged about 70 after a long career since 1860.
