Pioneers and Odd Fellows Tales From Fremont County

W M Roberts of Riverton visited Red Oak in 1848 and later moved to Fremont County. The local school board re elected teachers in Hamburg. Randolph Lodge I O O F members organized Fremont County Odd Fellows Association with officers named and a Riverton picnic planned.

Notson to helm Saturday News plant May first

Ex County Superintendent Lee Notson is to take over Frank C Williams’s interest in the Saturday News with possession set for May 1 at Hamburg. Notson, a longtime county resident and former superintendent, is welcomed back to lead the paper.
