Fragmentary OCR lists multiple name candidates including Andrew Johnson a governor hopeful Richard J. Polessy Macon County and others for state roles James H. Beveridge Newton Bateman Sharon Tyndale and Samuel Moult on for various offices in a regional ticket.
The fragment lists numerous names including John V. Parnell Jobe V. Eustace James B. Pogue John J. Bennett William T. Hopkins Franklin Blade J C Conkling Willian Walker Thomas W. Barrie A McCurdy A N Metcalf and several regional affiliations with counties such as Winnebago Lee Mercer Henry Grundy Iroquois Sangamon Fulton Shelby Payette Madison.
Grant's army states a successful movement to break and seize the Petersburg and Welden Railroad. Beauregard's forces hold Petersburg while Lee's army moves left toward the railroad.
