Cedarville schools open with strong attendance under WE Wright
The Cedarville school district began the week with good attendance led by principal WE Wright assisted by Miss Snow V Liggett of Freeport. Wright recently moved from Freeport to Cedarville and now resides in the former Resah house. Rev John Parr of Wilmette preached at the Presbyterian Church to a large audience. Parr, a former Cedarville principal, recently graduated from the Theological Seminary and has preached in Wilmette. He was married last Wednesday and stayed with his brother Lewis Parr of Harlem. Local building activity continues as Peter Bennetham and John Gushart construct new houses, Capt J P Reel adds a bay window, and Irwin plans to move west in about three weeks.

Witty quips and misfires set at a social gathering
A jumble of casual anecdotes and pranks spills from a parlor scene. A seven year old misidentifies a kiss as a sister act while a pair of men spar over a potential duel. A tale recalls a man nearly bleeding from cutting kindling with a warning about household duties. A caustic remark targets a spinster, and a Texan Arkansaw exchange ends with a pistol drawing and a clarification of kinship.

Prohibition Backers Celebrate in Kansas and Tawa Letters
Governor St John of Kangay and Governor Sharman of Tawa praise prohibition gains in their states. St John cites a large convention majority and a shrinking appetite for dram shops. Sharman notes strong support for a constitutional Sabbath and a notable electoral turnout.
