A London periodical prints a Byron document from August 1817 while in La Mira near Venice. It shows Byron addressing Lady Byron separation claims, offering to meet accusations, and noting court action to cancel the deed, with remarks by Byron from La Mina, near Venice.

In 1887 the artist Sully recalls painting Queen Victoria at Buckingham Palace on commission for the St. George Society of Philadelphia.
