The September 1 1879 council session chaired by the Mayor approved minutes, granted a 350 foot hose permit to Wagner Engine Co No 2, processed liquor license petitions with bonds, accepted weighmaster sexton and J P reports, and budget items. Finances included August treasurer data, committee reports favoring payments to Goodhue and Baunrighten, and tax refund opposition. Bills presented covered streets, fire, police, printing, insurance, general expenses, and salaries with warrants authorized.
