Market Watch of 1872 Repellants and Dress Goods Trends

The piece trade in Repellants shows firmer quotations for leading makes. Hosiery and Fancy Knit goods demand briskly in the jobbing trade. Dolan and Landenberger & Co. fancy hosiery is popular, with orders duplicating from jobbers. Cardigan Jackets, Knit Scarfs, and Shawls show good demand though fewer large buyers now. Ladies ready-made suits and cloaks gain traction with fall styles from large dry goods houses. Dress goods see active jobber distribution, with steady demand for foreign and domestic fabrics. Silks, Velvets, Alpacas, Mohairs, Empress Cloths, silk warp poplins, Latines, Saxon Plaids, Reps, and Delaines remain firm. Emphasizes strong domestic dress goods market, improved by favorable lustre.
