Stephenson County Supervisor Proceedings 1870

The November 9 1870 adjourned session of the Stephenson County Board of Supervisors meets at Freeport with Andrew Hinds in the chair. Members present include Erb Gillet Grimes Babcock Kachelhoffer Osterhout Sabin Goddard Marlin Stevens Fisher and others. The board handles remittance of courthouse tax, audits courthouse building payments, crossings, peddler licenses, poor farm building, printing claims, county accounts, court house fund loans, and suspends tax collection for a year with obligations to finish the courthouse. Minutes record committee reports on bonds forfeitures registry claims and salaries, adjournment to March 7 1871, and publication orders.
