Winslow Notes From the Evergreen Column
In Winslow several local events are reported including a Leap Year social hosted by Mrs. Jas Turnbull with about fifty attendees and a supper of note. The Winslow dramatic troupe performs for Good Templars with Rev Mr Lawson from Rockford delivering sermons for two Sabbaths. Mrs Bell manifest and Mr Gardiner lectured on Washington’s birth while Miss Ida Wickwire visits from Nebraska. Journal mentions local shuffles in business and travel plans as Gordon hands his shop to Will Cox next week. Heavy rain and a frail storm close the update.
