New Wheel Plow Reported by Burlington Standard
The Burlington Standard describes Nelson R. Morton new four wheel plow for the plough man to whistle as he goes. The device runs on four small wagon like wheels with right handed wheels in a furrow and a single brake to regulate depth. It weighs about 225 pounds but can be lighter. It can be made a double plow with another plow added. Nellie Norton drove the team to test the plow. Williams Keuper Bartoli Peters and others see likely success and labor savings in farming.

In Wisconsin at latitude 44, Mada of Berlin describes successful peach culture using low training and earth covered frames. After trials with mulch and boards, he built a timber frame with earth cover, protecting buds through frosts. Last year’s crop yielded six to eight dollars per bushel and he endorses specific varieties and spacing on Fox River near southern exposure, rich loam.
