Grand Free Pageant of Lalla Rookh at Freeport
Delights the crowd with a palace pageant featuring Lalla Rookh the Eastern Princess. The procession includes ornate howdahs, Rajahs, Moguls, Cavaliers in armor, elephants and camels, with the Great Khan guard and chamberlain following. The spectacle, described as the most magnificent of its kind in the New World, runs from 9 to 10 and is part of Earl Mayfield’s literary and cultural offerings.
