Prolific winter notes in a local Journal column
A crowded column from a small town paper covers weather, sleighing, local commerce, meetings, and social events. It notes Dr KF Winslow visiting Chicago, Farwell’s New York trade trips, plans for a Turners masquerade, horticultural society sessions, and expected fairs. It laments labor shortages, lamp safety tips, and a push for steam fire engine purchases while praising community resilience and local advertising.
