New York Letters on Politics, Vanderbilt Case and Raids

The Hayes Conkling split and the Vanderbilt trial dominate pages with gossip about Cornelius Vanderbilt Sr and William Vanderbilt. A temperance raid reduces rum traffic and police board woes persist amid political fighting. Weather remains unusually mild for the season.
