Socialists under Fire in American Cities Warned
The piece argues that the United States offers little sympathy to socialist agitators, who are tolerated only as long as their demonstrations remain nonviolent. It cites Chicago St Louis and New York as examples where authorities would subdue radical activity, praising Bancs of ordinary workers while condemning the Bread or Blood banditti and noting forthcoming literary notes from Appleton's Journal and various excerpts in Miscellany.
