Earthquakes and their universal statistics from Perrey study
The highest authority on earthquakes is Professor Perrey of Dijon. Consuls worldwide supplied observations to form a vast dataset. More than seven thousand shocks recorded show winter prevalence, equinox and solstice peaks, and links to atmospheric pressure. Wave speeds vary from forty to one hundred forty miles per minute on land and eight to ten miles per minute at sea, with Pacific crossovers noted. Lima averages forty five yearly shocks. Chile notes sixty one in a year.
