An advertisement touts Dr King’s New Discovery for coughs colds asthma bronchitis hay fever consumption and throat or lung issues claiming millions of bottles used last year. It urges trials at Emmert Burrell’sFreeport with 10 cent trial and $1 regular size.

An old newspaper advertisement touts Bucklen's Arnica Salve as the best for cuts bruises and skin eruptions with a 25 cent price from Emmert and Burrell. It also promotes Dr Price's Lemon and Orange Flavoring Extracts as pure without turpentine odor and notes wholesale-like discounts at G D Grocery Store.
The notice touts Hos teter’s Almanac 1879 from Tostetter & Smith, Pittsburgh. It claims 80 hands in publishing, ten cylinder presses, and a production run of at least ten million copies in multiple languages. It promises health reading, testimonials, calendar items, and astronomical data, available free from druggists and country traders.
NEW MARKET opened under Temperance Hall by Chas E Faerber offering beef pork mutton veal chickens turkeys and other daily fresh cuts at lower prices than any city market. Also advertises Dr Marshall's Long Syrup for coughs and colds at 25 cents sold by N F Draper.
The clippings promote Marlboro and North Carolina brands at low prices while advertising Swayne's All-healing Ointment for piles and London Mary Color Restorer for hair.
