A poetic account depicts a holy procession through streets toward the temple. Jesus appears blessed by the crowd as scribes and Pharisees watch. A repentant sinner is spared as a commandment of mercy echoes, and the promised peace follows the blessing. The piece ends with St. John de Pree noting the date November 23, 1874.
In 1866 London, Mr Blonger meets a mysterious American claiming to suspend gravity with a blue wire. He demonstrates weightless cannons and a daring pledge of secrecy to a select panel before a stranger vanishes. A later letter hints a sealed bank packet to reveal the secret in 1876, with a deadly twist.
A sermon by Rev. A C Osborn argues prayer is natural duty and sacred privilege. It contrasts public and private prayer, urging secret prayer in the closet away from worldly concerns, citing Christ’s instruction and examples like Jacob, Moses, David, and Daniel to illustrate intimate communion with God and spiritual renewal.
