Sanford and Rowell advertise direct lumber and shingles from the stump to save middleman profits. They claim better quality for the price than Healer in northern Illinois. A fresh stock of barn timber is arriving. office at yard behind the Brewster House.
MORGAN BROS proprietors at Novelty Iron Works offer to pay the highest market price in cash for fifty tons of old iron located on Spring street between Walnut and Galena Avenue.
A Freeport store boasts it has built the largest business in two and a half years by offering a stock twice as large as competitors and prices far lower than usual. The ad claims a clean cheerful shop and fair dealing, even a three year old can buy without being cheated.
The notice claims instant relief from neuralgia toothache headache and other pains with Dr Fenner’s Golden Relief. It also says the remedy cures rheumatism backache kidney disease colic diarrhea dysentery burns and bruises with a sample bottle offered and touts low prices and good goods at C C D Store mentioning extra corn syrup at 45 cents a gallon.
An ad notices Dr Fenner’s Improved Cough Honey promising head cold relief within an hour with a sample bottle at 10c. It also promotes a car load of garden grown Teas priced from 10 to 80 cents per pound, offered by C. C. D. Stone with claim of cheaper prices than the state.
On Tuesday November 2 1880 a small red and white spotted cow aged between 3 and 4 years is missing. The animal gives milk, has large horns and long hair between the horns and is quite gentle. A liberal reward will be paid for the return of the whereabouts. J M Weddel shares the notice.
One thousand barrels of choice varieties are hand picked and sold by BARREL Bros. at 110 Stephenson St. They hail from northeastern Michigan and are described as longer keeping, finer flavored, and better fruit than any other part of the state.

Letter from J. M. Seyler praises Dr Fenner’s remedies after a two year skin eruption swelling cough and leg swelling. He credits Blood and Liver compound Nerve Tonic Salt Rheum Ointment and Cough Honey with rapid recovery starting in February and full return to work by March. Dr Fenner products advertised as quick cures include Cough Honey Relief and St Vitus Dance Specific. Emmert & Burrell sell the remedies.
Bucklen Arnica Salve advertised as the best salve for cuts bruises sores ulcers and skin eruptions with a money back guarantee. Price 25 cents per box and sold by Emmert and Burrell in Freeport Illinois.

An old advertisement touts cigars including LIGET and several brands for smoking and chewing tobacco, pipes of all kinds, and says C. O. D. Grocery offers fresh oysters and crackers for parties at low rates. Located two doors south of Post Office opposite Brewster House.
Lost on or about the fifteenth of November five certificates of deposit at the First National Bank of Freeport plus two promissory notes. Names involved include Henry Fisher Jonathan Nesbit and Margaret Russell. Notes not endorsed by Alexander Nesbit. Reward offered for return and warning not to negotiate papers. 35-2W

The advertiser invites the public to his marble and stone works at the shop corner of Galena and Adams streets Freeport. He offers 25 percent cheaper prices than competitors, claims quality equal to any west of Chicago, and guarantees satisfaction. No agents canvassing.

English writer Mrs Nforace Dobell undertakes the labor of copying the authoress of John Halifax omitting an entire book. Mrs Craig reportedly knows nothing about either sex, a remark that may surprise many readers.
A mound near Swansea said to hold geological and antiquarian treasures was opened for a large British Association science party. A member of parliament supervised the ceremony, but the mound proved to be only a gravel and boulder heap formed by two springs converging at the spot.
