Whig candidates for county offices will be nominated at the Freeport court house on Monday August 30 at 12 noon. Six delegates will be chosen to represent Old Stephenson in the Rockford Congressional Convention on September 1. Town committees are urged to select delegates for August 21 to attend the County Convention. Delegates allocated by towns. a large turnout is requested to uphold Old Stephenson.
