Death of 8. R. Wells Phrenologist and author

Wells a well known professor of phrenology and author of several works on that subject died April 18 of typhoid fever He was born in West Hartford Conn in 1820 and educated a physician He early pursued phrenology and devoted his life to its study He married a sister of L N Fowler and was a partner of the Fowler brothers for many years He published the Phrenological Journal founded the Phrenological Institute and was an early advocate of vegetarianism and a temperance lecturer.
