Distressing Accident in New Baptist Building Injures Child
A ten year old boy, Edwin Srvur, eldest son of Rufus Srvur, fell about twelve feet from a temporary gangway inside the new Baptist Society building near the river. A heavy oak timber struck him as he lay, causing a fatal head injury. He died within minutes, despite medical aid. The father arrived as his son breathed his last. In a separate note, Monracve, an elderly resident, attempted suicide with a razor but was prevented. he was recovering under watch as he had suffered fits and possible mental distress.
