Marinette Wisconsin October 21 A devastating fire struck the city around 1 am destroying over forty buildings and one entire block on Marin street. Losses are estimated near 200000 with many firms burned out but some intend to reopen. The blaze originated in Reinecke’s grocery and spread rapidly through woolen works and adjacents, crippling the fire department and leaving numerous families homeless. The incident is blamed on possible incendiarism with the fire spreading through open shutters and engulfing multiple stores and residences.
