Presbyterians Open Synod Meeting in Joliet Illinois

The Presbyterian Synod of Illinois convened a three day gathering in Joliet with nearly 300 ministers present. The seventeenth annual session of the Women’s Synodical Home Missionary Society is held alongside the ministers’ assembly. Retiring moderator Rev David Clark of Galena spoke as the new moderator Rev J M Ross of Kirkwood was elected. In Rockford the Northern Illinois Beekeepers Association opened its annual meeting noting a harsh honey year with colony declines around 61 percent and production down about 75 percent. Meeting of Congregation at Second Presbyterian Church
