Cotton muslin and dress goods go on weekly sale with yardage from 2 to 12 yards and prices from 6c to 10c. Bleached muslin, unbleached muslin, velveteen bindings, corduroy skirts, and wool dress flannels feature discounts. Also muslin wear like vests and pants at low prices and a line of cloaks advertised as great bargains.
In a local advertisement the grocery department touts bargains on Oakes A B C crackers at 5 cents per pound and Bakers Premium chocolate at 2 cents. Cross & Blackwell chowchow and pickles 20 cents per bottle. Java and Mochu coffee three pounds for four dollars. uncolored Japan Tea 28 cents per pound. canned peas 10 cents a can or 81.05 per dozen. bananas eight cents a dozen. cranberries six cents a quart. sweet potatoes Jersey grown two cents per pound. New sign and sweet cider, urging shoppers not to miss these sale bargains.
Chicago and Liverpool report a sharp wheat surge with December futures up about 2 to 3 cents from yesterday. Prices opened 73 to 74 cents, climbed to 74 3/4, then retreated slightly at close, marking a total gain of roughly 20 cents since September amid strong foreign demand and crop worries.
The contest closes on November 30 with a $50 prize awarded by M Serf. Each sack of flour purchased earns one vote for one of four groups St. Francis Hospital Amity Deaconess Aid Society and Wo mans Relief Corps. The prom ise to be close among three societies. supporters urged to vote.

Services at First Presbyterian Church drew crowds too large to fit, forcing many to stand outside as speakers emphasized one ideal: helping young men through the association.
In Galena Illinois October 16 the Bauer robbers remain at large after hiding in dense woods south of town. They briefly visited a farmer Eckert's home for breakfast and one man, wounded in a scalp, was carried by his companion. A second man was seen near a potato field but a ruse nearly fooled the posse. The area is fully surrounded as hunger and exhaustion are predicted to force an exit.
