Stephenson County Fair impresses with broad exhibits
The Stephenson Co Agricultural Society annual fair closed in our city after a record showing. Visitors praised large livestock displays including 108 horses and colts, 73 horned cattle, and a improving sheep section led by C H Rosenstiel of Silver Creek. The vegetable, grain, fruit, and canned goods sections showcased diverse entries from John Boynton, L Montague, and E Ordway among others. Exhibits from Munny & Co and Freeport Warehouse displayed a range of threshers, reapers, mowers, corn planters, and other farm machinery. A pioneer log cabin display drew interest alongside fine silverware, fruit, and quilts. The address by Hon. C. B. Denio closed the event with praise.
