Reverend Charles Woodruff Shields D D a longtime Princeton professor in theology resigned from the Presbyterian church after censure for backing a liquor license renewal for the Princeton inn. Born 1835 in New Albany Indiana he studied at College of New Jersey and Princeton Seminary and has since taught harmony of science and revealed religion at Princeton. He is notable author and remains connected to Princeton University under President Patton and the faculty.
