For the week ending November 4, the Woodmen head office issued 2,177 benefit certificates and chartered 15 new camps, up from 1,714 certificates and 24 camps a year earlier. Five new camps are in new territory, with two in Colorado, two in Connecticut, and one in Indian Territory. Expulsions totaled three, including one for habitual drunkenness and one for conduct unbecoming a neighbor. another listed a long series of offenses. Finances were strong with the benefit fund at 336,937.45 and the general fund at 835,776.59, totaling 572,714.04. An additional assessment may be skipped within four months. Through 1899, withdrawals exceed 14,000, with 97 percent deposited in camps of choice, the rest lapsing after withdrawal cards.
