A. J. Goddard general manager of the Freeport Railway Light Power company donated a valuable range to the baseball management to be raffled at the fair. The gift will raise funds for the club as season tickets quickly sell. The fair is expected to be a success with strong ticket sales.
Chicago closing board shows May wheat 883, May corn 45 4, May oats 82 24, January pork 12.60, lard 6.85 87, ribs 6.55 57. Union Stock Yards notes cattle 300 slow, beeves 3.20 to 6.30, cows 1.25 to 4.75, stockers 2.25 to 4.20. hogs 11,000, firm to higher with several price bands. sheep 1,000 weak at 3.60 to 5.90. Observes a pervading comfortable feel for properly fixed attire.
New York banks report cash holdings $2,428,800 below the required 25 percent reserve on deposits. When government deposits are counted, total reserve deficit rises to $294,800. Government deposits are excluded from the reserve calculation per current decision.
Odessa report says inmates in Kisheneff jail rose against guards and demanded freedom. When refused, prisoners opened fire. Troops answered with a volley, killing twenty-two and wounding many in the jail yard.

Captain Silk of the police department arrested three men described as tramps in Wallace yards after a brewery telegram suggested they may be the suspects in a Waddams Grove burglary. Police await identification from Waddams Grove complainants.

Last evening about forty young men attended the Y M C A event viewing show cards designed by Oscar Heinig. Cards showcased varied subjects in original color ink work and attracted many who signed to join the night school department. Cards remain on display until Monday evening for those who missed the initial viewing.
J E Stearns of Belle Plaine Minnesota reports a friend suffered a hand injury swelling with signs of blood poisoning. Bucklen's Arnica Salve drew out the poison and saved the life, touted as best for burns and sores and sold for 25 cents at Joseph Emmert's drug store.
