Mount 4 on Brotherhood seeks incorporation in Winnebago

Springfield Nov 8 Appl ication was made to Illinois Secretary of State for incorporation under the laws of Illinois of the Mount 4 on Brotherhood to be located at Winnebago The object is to establish a brotherhood with members living together for spiritual and intellectual improvement cultivation of refined life mutual benefit and social welfare The incorporators are Spencer Weldon Samuel Weldon Fred King George Schweinfarth and Mrs Aurora Isabella Schweinfarth The organization is without capital stock The first board of trustees includes the incorporators plus Miss Lucile Weldon Mrs A Marie Tafft and Misa M B Romeden The secretary of state has referred the matter to the attorney general for an opinion on legality of the organization

Stricken with Paralysis Aged Father of J H Edwards Critically Ill

Isaac Edwards, longtime Amboy resident and former Lee County official, suffered a second paralysis stroke this morning at about 7 o clock. Aged and esteemed, he previously served as sheriff, supervisor, city tax collector, and Amboy mayor. His sons I F Edwards, county superintendent of schools, and John H Edwards, a Freeport grocer, are named.

State Supreme Court Rules Henhouse Not a Building

Springfield November 6 The state Supreme Court ruled that a henhouse is not a building under the statute and reversed a lower court ruling in State v Gilloch. Gilloch was convicted of stealing two chickens valued at 60 cents and sentenced to not less than one year in the penitentiary.
