Pretoria reports the morning arrest in Johannesburg of seven men named Nicholls Patterson Tremlett Ellis Freis Hooper and Mitchell on treason charges. They arrived by special train and were visited by the British diplomatic agent after imprisonment. Police say incriminating documents were found and more arrests are expected.

Danville Illinois hosts the thirty third annual encampment of the Illinois department Grand Army of the Republic starting tomorrow with visitors already arriving. Jacksonville led by Col lector Yates arrived to establish headquarters. Peoria and Rockford also seek the next encampment.

The group voted to study art next year and staged a burlesque shadow-pictures Romeo and Juliet performance with Miss Wilson as Juliet and others in roles.
New York May 15 R L Coleman president of Western Wheel Works Chicago renewed his option for sale of the bicycle plant to A G Spalding. The Spalding engineered combination will control a large share of U S bicycle output with facilities to produce a complete bicycle every five seconds ten hours daily. Financing comes from United States Mortgage and Trust and Lee Higginson Co Boston. Capital planned at 35 million dollars preferred and 45 million common stock. Within days 106 manufacturers holding options will transfer their plants here to finalize the new company’s organization.
Aunt Sarah Wilson turned 81 yesterday afternoon when friends held a surprise party for her. The ladies stayed for tea and were entertained, presenting Aunt Sarah with several substantial gifts. A note highlights T. & T. coffee, roasted by a vacuum process to retain flavor in air tight cans.
