Physician Fined $200 Over Obscene Pamphlets

RocxForp Ill March 26 Dr J Floyd Banton a local physician was fined 200 dollars and costs by a jury in a local court for distributing pamphlets alleged obscene literature. The pamphlets titled Warnings to Parents urged bicycle hobby as ruinous to humanity and were issued against police orders.

Trial of A H Mertz Editor Convicted of Criminal Libel

Mr Carron Marcel 26, from Gene seo, reports the circuit court verdict of guilty against A H Mertz editor of the Union Missions. Mertz was charged after publishing an article deriding Dr Miller of Shannon. Miller had Mertz bound over to Carroll county grand jury which returned an indictment.
