Levi J Kleckner, a Stephenson county pioneer now a Green county resident, died at 7 p m at 427 West Summit Street after a year of illness. Born July 12, 1824 in Union County Pennsylvania, he arrived in Illinois in 1840 and lived much of his life in Green and Stephenson counties. Survived by his second wife, Permelia Knox, he was known for farming, then mercantile work and frequent attendance at old settlers reunions.

O Connell Jailed After Wright Street Burglaries
John O Connell was arrested early Sunday by Officers Wilkey and Harts for attempting burglaries on Wright street. Neighbors on the Vail residence watched a man tampering with a side window and followed him. He was nabbed near the old brick office on Wright street, with a stolen watch and chain later recovered. Casey declined to file burglary charges. O Connell pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and paid $5.65 in fines.
