Heath, first assistant postmaster general, reports that the house ways and means committee decided to report the tariff bill tomorrow. Debate will start Monday with a final vote set for March 31.
A Greek vessel loaded with provisions and ammunition for Greek forces in Crete was fired upon and sunk near Candia by the Austrian gun boat Zelenioco. The incident occurred on March 18 with the vessel carrying supplies for Crete's defenders.
Cincinnati dispatch reports that Scott Jackson and Alonzo Walling will print tomorrow a signed full confession regarding Pearl Bryan murder and the disposal of her head. They allegedly admit Dr Wagner of Bellevue Kentucky helped in the crime and that Wagner was later confined in the Lexington asylum.

Corbett remains alive and well in San Francisco after reports of his death circulated. He slept well under opiate relief and awoke with only a broken tooth needing dental care. Fitzsimmons is in good condition and plans to proceed to San Francisco tonight.

John C. Madden a well known state political figure and father of George H. Madden of the state board of agriculture and Post master Charles T. Madden died at 66. He came to Mendota in 1853 and was a member of the firm Donahue & Madden, extensive manufacturers.

Invitations extended to all teachers of young children and interested parties.
