San Antonio reports J W Greer, a local mechanical engineer, negotiating with the war department to buy his auto machine gun for fortifications and floating batteries. Tests show a gun firing 800 three inch projectiles per minute, versus 11 such shots per minute from earlier designs. The Greer gun can be scaled to heavier ammo and produced quickly using existing department guns.
